Carmel Home Renovations Contractor
Built Right. Built by People Who Care
Every Kasavan project is grounded in quality, consistency, and communication.
What we’re actually building:
Every home tells a story, and how it gets built says just as much as the result.
Kasavan Construction exists to lead the process with care—so the final result reflects the standard it was built on.
The People Behind the Work
A project is only as good as the people building it.
Kasavan Construction is more than just a contracting company.
Established in 2018 by Owner David Kasavan, Kasavan Construction goes much farther back than that.
Born as a third-generation Monterey County native, David was exposed to the construction industry at a young age by his second-generation architect father, Peter. David learned how to swing a hammer about the same time he learned how to swing a bat.
Fast forward to David’s college days, where he picked up a job on a construction site in Monterey County. It was then, and there David knew what his true calling was. David dove headfirst into the industry and soaked up all the knowledge he could find.
After seven years of learning different aspects of the construction trade in Monterey County, David decided it was time to make his move and make a more significant impact by starting Kasavan Construction.
Today, under David’s leadership, Kasavan Construction has built a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, integrity, and client service.
That commitment to excellence has earned recognition throughout the community, including being voted Best General Contractor by readers of the Carmel Pine Cone and Best Construction Company in the Monterey Herald Readers’ Choice Awards.
The team at Kasavan Construction strives for only one thing: client satisfaction. Because of this, Kasavan Construction maintains world-class craftsmanship and results.

Questions About Building or Renovating?
-
Building a custom home starts with aligning your vision, scope, and investment before design is finalized. From there, plans are developed, details are refined, and construction moves forward with a clear roadmap. At Kasavan Construction, this process is structured to ensure decisions are made early, so the build stays on track and is done right from the start.
-
The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the project, but most large-scale renovations take several months to over a year. The key factor is how well the project is planned up front. When scope, design, and details are aligned early, the construction phase moves more efficiently with fewer delays.
-
Choosing the right team is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. The right builder brings structure, communication, and accountability to the entire process—and works in alignment with your architect and designer from the beginning.
If you're early in the process, we’ve put together a guide to help:
It walks through what to look for, what to avoid, and how early alignment protects your budget, timeline, and final result.
-
Costs vary based on size, design, materials, and site conditions. Custom homes and large-scale renovations in Monterey and Carmel typically require a significant investment due to the level of craftsmanship and detail involved. The best way to understand cost is through an early consultation where scope and priorities can be clearly defined.
-
The earlier, the better. Bringing a builder in during the early design phase helps align plans with budget, avoid costly revisions, and ensure details translate properly into construction. Early collaboration leads to a smoother process and a better final result.
